CASPER, Wyo. – The Casper-Natrona County Health Department inspects restaurants, grocery stores, convenience stores, mobile food units, commissaries and food vending operations. Each facility has an unannounced inspection at least twice a year.
According to the department, “There are three types of violations: priority, priority base and primary.”
While the Department of Health is looking for deficiencies, the organization’s primary goal is to educate businesses, helping them understand unsafe practices and ways to correct them.
According to Ruth Held, Natrona County’s Environmental Health Program Manager, “There is no slipping or passing or failing health inspections. She says each breach is fixed immediately or within 10 days, meaning a breach doesn’t put the business at risk.
If a retest is needed, the issue may be more serious or the facility may need more time to adjust. They have 10 days to fix the problem, and according to Heald, most utilities can easily meet the requirement.
Any serious violations or notable citations are included in the summary notes below, but a full report for each restaurant is available in the department. websiteWhere they publish all their current information.
