Paradise by Marc Jacobs went to Gen Z’s customer mecca on Saturday night: Bushwick. Elsewhere, the brand’s Doja Cat – officially the Night Collection – took over a nightclub to celebrate its fall campaign, featuring Charli XCX, Dave Hynes, Pamela Anderson and Kyle McLachlan.
The line to get into the venue stretched along Johnson Avenue and wrapped around the block after the doors opened at 10 p.m., with hopeful clubgoers jostling to get inside. “Everybody in this line is on the list,” one of the bouncers told the group to cut their case forward.
By midnight, the waiting room was packed wall-to-wall with human bodies. Packed into the packed dance floor were guests Jared Leto, the “Gossip Girl” crew – Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Evan Mock – photographer Tyler Mitchell, Ricky Thompson and artist Kimberly Drew. Madonna, who had performed at Marnie’s earlier in the evening, also fell short. Even Marc Jacobs was seen.
The room continued to swell in anticipation of the evening’s players. Charli XCX took the stage shortly after midnight for a short two-song set, followed shortly after by PinkPantheress. The final act of the night, Doja Cat, arrived backstage at 12:30 and took the stage shortly after. But with a 3am party end time, the night was still young.
