Ann Arbor – Join Motawi Tileworks to celebrate the big 3-0 with tile-making workshops, a new exhibit, and a staff art sale.

On Saturday, October 1, community members can stop by the Ann Arbor Company to tour a self-guided archive display and purchase locally made ceramics and art by die-hard artisans.

If that’s not enough, those with an artistic side can participate in tile-making workshops and take them home. Deadly Tiles.

Here are the details:

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., death experts will assist participants during standby workshops. Attendees can design their own plaques or holiday ornaments that sparkle with emerald hues.

Tiles cost $10, and ornaments are $15. Community members are limited to one of each item.

For those who don’t live locally or can’t afford a tile on a die, tile or jewelry can be shipped for $20.

Rovin Ceramics will be at Tileworks from 10am to 1pm to demonstrate the unique Japanese pottery process.

Participants in this workshop can choose an item’s design and glitter color for $20.

Masks are required for those entering indoor areas within the tile.
