UPDATE: Lafayette Police say a man was shot inside a barber shop at the Acadiana Mall today.
The police confirmed that the people in the barbershop started a fight, in which one person was shot.
The mall was closed while police investigated. The victim was listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
The suspect managed to flee before police arrived at the scene.

Acadiana Mall is closed while the investigation is underway.
Police say a gun was fired at the Acadiana Mall this afternoon.
There was evidence that one shot had been fired and one person was wounded, but as of 2:45 p.m. police had found no victims and no suspects, the spokesman said.
This is not an active shooter situation, police said, and this is believed to be an isolated incident.
Police are still on the scene and everyone has been asked to stay away from the area for the time being. At least 3:30pm, the mall is closed.
