Sweden-based online fashion retailer Butz AB says it has suspended 42,000 customers for returning items they bought too many items.
Ask Kirkeskov Ris, a spokesman for a multi-brand e-commerce site that sells clothing and beauty products online, whose customers have been banned indefinitely because they didn’t agree or regretted the purchase and sent it back.
These customers “frequently benefit from free shipping and returns at the highest level of service at the expense of our business, our other customers and our environment,” he said.
In an email to The Associated Press, he said they represent less than 2 percent of the “more than 3 million customers on Boozt,” but 25 percent of the total return rate.
“By pausing these bills and reducing unnecessary returns, Bozt can save around 791 tonnes of CO2 in 2022, eliminating the need for around 600 delivery trucks in one year,” he said.
The e-commerce company is listed on NASDAQ and has more than 1,200 employees. Boozt AB operates in several European countries.
