BRUSSELS, Sept 16 (Reuters) – Amazon ( AMZN.O ) will have to revise proposals to end two investigations into its business, European Union antitrust chief Margrethe Vestiger said on Friday after third-party comments on the matter.

It also stops giving priority to itself and treats sellers equally when they rate their submissions to the “buy box” on the website that generates the most sales.

Vesteger gave third parties until Sept. 9 to comment before deciding whether to accept the proposals.

“We are now in the process of evaluating that feedback, some of which indicates potential improvements on several points,” Vestager said at the conference in New York.
Vesteger cited the European Commission’s investigation into Alphabet’s ( GOOGL.O ) Google’s digital advertising business, which it is cooperating with its U.S. counterpart on the case.
“We will also be in close contact with the DOJ[Department of Justice]in the context of our investigation into Google’s ad technology,” she said.
The investigation is at an early stage.
Vestager, who earlier this year pushed for major EU rules to regulate Big Tech, urged US lawmakers to pass the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, which would bar tech giants from voting on their own businesses on their websites.
“Of course, it is up to Congress, but without such legislative pressure, there is a risk of disintegration of regulatory systems – pointing again to the more important role of cooperation in our regions, for example our cooperation with the DOJ on Google”, said Vestager.
