CARSON, Calif. (KABC) — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead in Carson, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the man, identified as Xiaoi Wang, 49, had stab wounds. He was found Tuesday at the business located in the 1700 block of E. Del Amo Boulevard.

The sheriff’s department told Eyewitness News that an employee found the man walking into work around 6:15 a.m. Investigators believe the victim may have been an employee or possibly one of the owners of the business.

“We know that the victim works late into the night, so at some point, during the night, some kind of incident happened here,” said LASD Lt. Derek Alfred, who said the victim suffered serious injuries to his body and head.

The employee who found him reported seeing the victim’s personal property nearby.

Officials did not release details about the business. Alfred believes the facility is part of some import business.

Investigators do not believe the incident is gang-related and no motive or information about a possible suspect was available.
