NEW YORK, Sept 12 (Reuters) – For the first time in three years, Tommy Hilfiger and Bagley Mischka presented their new collections in person at New York Fashion Week.
“It’s really fun to be back in, you know, real life fashion shows, real life. You know, interacting with people not just on Zooms, but on Facetimes. It’s so much better,” said James Mischka of Mark Bagley. One half of American design duo Badgley Mischka.
Their recent trip to Morocco inspired their latest collection of evening wear with bold and vibrant colors seen in spice markets.

“We spent some time there earlier this summer and came across some beautiful sample rooms there,” Mishka said.
“We often do neutrals, but for us, evening dresses come to life when they have color,” Bagley says. “We found that our friends, people, press, whatever, remember her and that beautiful tangerine dress.”
The inspiration for Hilfiger’s casual looks comes from the late artist Andy Warhol.
“When I met him in the ’80s, he inspired me to be, surround my brand and myself with pop culture and pop culture icons, and that’s what he did,” Hilfiger said.
Hilfiger showed off designs with the brand’s logo at Brooklyn’s Skyline Drive-In Theater in the rain, while onlookers watched in plastic ponchos. The runway show, which included pop culture stars like Ashley Graham and model Kate Moss’ daughter Leila Moss, closed with drummer Travis Barker performing a special song.
New York Fashion Week ends on Wednesday.
