Glitz, glamor and fashion were on stage at Breezy Point Resort last week. To help the Pect Lakes Police Department raise money for a new defibrillator, a fashion show with a throwback 50s style and theme was held.
The Pect Lakes Police Department and EMTs all share one defibrillator when responding to an emergency. To help purchase a new one, which will cost several thousand dollars, the Breezy Point Area Women’s Club held a fundraiser to help offset the cost.
The reason this is so near and dear to the Breezy Point Area Women’s Club is that, like many people, they have family members who need this life-saving tool.
The Breezy Point Area Women’s Club knows everyone needs the community to help. They say they’re a very friendly and fun-loving charity, but overall it’s all about giving back to the community.
The club was able to raise $6,000 to donate to the police department, with more money still coming in.
