Cal Poly Humboldt has opened a new campus store
Cal Poly Humboldt announced the opening of its second campus store in a news release.
Located at the corner of 8th and G streets in Arcata, the new location will sell a variety of products, including branded items from Cal Poly Humboldt, College of the Redwoods and area high schools. Humboldt State University Archives; Furniture and accessories; and Apple and Dell Electronics. The site will have the only Apple Certified Service Center in Humboldt County.
The store also offers public seating for charging stations as well as free WiFi for students. Items can be ordered online and shipped for free to the store for pickup or shipped directly to customers.
The Arcata location follows the campus store Eureka (in the Ritz Building, 218 F Street), which opened in November 2021.
“Campus Stores reflects the University’s pride in being part of our local community. We are excited to welcome alumni, visitors and prospective students and families at both locations,” said Todd Larson, Executive Director of Housing Operations.
Redwood Capital announces promotions
Redwood Capital Bank has announced management changes for two branch locations. Former Fortuna branch manager Bob Judevin moves to vice president and Arcata branch manager. Brian Gonzalez was recently promoted to Vice President and Branch Manager of Fortuna. Gonzalez will retain his current position as branch manager of the Henderson Center location. Jamie Anderson was named Assistant Vice President and Commercial Lending Officer.
“On behalf of the entire Redwood Capital Bank group, we are excited about the opportunities these personnel changes bring,” President and CEO John E. Dalby said in a prepared statement.

USCellular invests in 5G sites in Eureka
USCellular has invested in the creation of new VoLTE and 5G cell sites in Eureka. The sites augment USCellular’s network in Eureka, and the wireless carrier is one of more than 45 sites in the state. VoLTE or Voice-over LTE) offers customers features such as HD calling and simultaneous use of voice and data, the company said in a news release.
In the year By 2021, the company has invested $37 million in network upgrades and upgrades across California to enhance the customer experience.
