On May 2, 2023, Supervising Probation Officer Bridget Beck was selected to speak on one of four panels. Community forum on mental health. Hosted by the Sonoma County Department of Health Services and the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors, the forum brought together service providers from across the county for a community discussion on crisis services, suicide prevention, substance use disorder services, workforce development and more. .
Ms Beck participated in a second session on mental health and wellbeing needs. Her panel was chaired by District Four Supervisor James Gore. Ms. Beck addressed the mental health and substance abuse needs of juvenile justice, and acknowledged steps taken to better connect youth with natural supports through child and family group meetings and giving them “voice and choice.” The goals of the plan in their case.
The four sessions include:
Part 1: Substance use disorder treatment services and the opioid crisis
Part 2: Mental health and wellness needs
Part 3: Crisis services and suicide prevention
Unit 4: Human Resource Challenges and Solutions.
