Don’t be an idiot if you rush the field at Texas Tech

I love hurricanes. I like to invade the courts. I love college football.

Just look at the atmosphere in Lubbock after their 37-34 overtime win over the Texas Longhorses this weekend:

I applauded this earlier in the weekend and stood by it. Throwing the horns down in front of the mascot? Acceptable.

A full field full of fans. Amazing view.

Here’s the deal: Fans who watched their team win a big game were given a key. Players who win or lose a big game are emotional. It’s not really a good situation, but if the fans can control themselves, everything is fine.

Of course, you’ll find some moments below, where the player flips the opposing fan, but that’s okay in my opinion. Two young people are having a little fun.

But this next video isn’t just a little fun.

A Texas Tech fan who blinded a Texas Longhorn player on the field should be banned from the stadium and from Texas Tech athletic events. cruel? Maybe, but if you play stupid games, you get stupid rewards.

Texas Tech fans have a bad reputation around the Big 12 and I try to disprove when people say that. Then things like this happen and it becomes difficult to deny. Now, one person in a thousand is a big ratio, but it only takes one to make an entire fan base look like fools.

There are reports of other Texas players throwing their shoulders at passing fans, but I have yet to see video evidence of that.

I hope this doesn’t stop the Field Storm in Lubbock because there really is nothing better than fans pouring over the walls at The Jones. Just don’t mess with players in opposing uniforms — unless, of course, it’s a friendly match.
