On the road again
The Falcons are on the road to open the Western Athletic Conference slate and close out a three-game road trip against UNLV on Sept. 30 and Utah Tech on Oct. 2. Action at Johann Memorial Field in Las Vegas is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. P.T. Air Force kicks off with Utah Tech at 1:30pm in St. George.
Series
The Falcons will meet UNLV for the 44th time in program history. Air Force leads the all-time series 23-16-4. The Falcons are 8-3-2 against the Rebels in the last 12 meetings. UNLV hasn’t beaten the Falcons against USAFA since 2003—Air Force is 10-0-1 in the Academy’s last 11 meetings against UNLV. The last time the Rebels won against Air Force was in the 2016 WASH championship game.
Last season, Air Force rallied from an early deficit to beat UNLV 3-1.
The Falcons and Bison will meet for the third time in program history with Air Force picking up both wins in two meetings. Utah Tech has yet to score against the Falcons. It will be remembered that the last time the teams met in St. George, Air Force defeated the newcomers of the Western Athletic Conference 4-0 in the first division at the Great Zion Stadium. Last season, Air Force went 2-0 in the USAFA, beating Dixie State.

Air Force came up short against a tough San Francisco team, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 25) at Negosco Stadium. The Falcons picked up their first win of the season as they handed the Dons (6-1-2) their first loss.

Houston Christian used a three-game winning streak to build momentum heading into the WAC conference schedule, outscoring opponents by a combined score of 14-0 in those wins. The Huskies lead the WACN with 23 goals, 2.6 assists, 69 points and 7.7 points per game since Sept. 27. .
Fracarlu scored the second point in the nation
WASH’s leading scorer, Bryant Farcarlough, of Houston Christian, was ranked second nationally in the NCAA Division I statistical report on Sept. 25. As a team, Houston Christian ranks eighth in the nation in total goals (23), total assists (23) and total points (69).
The Air Force fought hard and scored the first victory of the season
Against the third-toughest schedule in DI men’s soccer, Air Force picked up its first win of 2022 by snapping a pair of shutouts in its first six starts, snapping an earlier 6-0-2 decision over San Francisco on Sept. 1-0. 25.
The ‘second season’ starts this weekend
WAC conference play officially begins this weekend with eight scheduled league matches, with conference tournament champions Seattle UUTRGV on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. and Houston Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 2. Canyon will travel to Utah Tech on September 30th for a 7:30pm game and a 1pm show at UNLV on the weekend of October 2nd.
