Designers took to the spring/summer 2022 catwalks in everything from monochrome to multi-coloured – with undercut shirts and bold, disco-flavored skirts.
Summer is the perfect time to try out the trend, whether you’re looking for holiday outfits, weekend wear or the perfect party outfit.
Here’s how to work stripes into your winter wardrobe…
NAUTICAL
Navy and white stripes never go out of style, as seen by Wells Bonner and JW Anderson.
This season, the classic long-sleeve Breton top gives way to breezy, summer singles, tees, and cute built-in ensembles. Team with white jeans and espadrilles for a chic beach look.

Vertical stripes
The beach inspiration continues with the Deccher-style vertical stripes. Flowing frocks made a statement on Schiaparelli and Tory Burch, while stripy labels were grouped together on Jil Sander and Kenneth Eze.
Embrace the catwalk clashing look by pairing a contrasting top and bottom, or keep it simple with a simple midi dress and tonal accessories.

Monochrome

Always a classic combination, black and white stripes were seen on everything from sassy mini dresses (Balmain and Courages) to sweeping gowns (Erdem and Tory Burch).
Choose form-fitting frocks (for work or play) or relaxed fit linen day dresses.

OCCASIONWEAR

The perfect way to style an outfit this summer, a striped maxi dress in punchy or pastel colors is a winner for weddings and garden parties.
Play up the ’70s disco vibe with metallic platform heels and statement hoop earrings.
