GeekWire is launching a new business unit led by respected Seattle entrepreneur Jason Greer, a tech recruiting veteran who previously co-founded software development and technology marketing provider GenUI.

The new business section expands on our tradition of connecting members of the Pacific Northwest technology community in a variety of ways, including news reports and events.

In this opportunity, we create connections to help developers and engineers find rewarding and fulfilling technical roles and help companies hire and retain top technical talent.

We’re calling the business GeekWork, and we’ll share more details about our plans at the 2022 GeekWire Summit, October 6-7 in Seattle. (Full agenda and tickets here).

In addition to introducing our unique corporate and agency partners, we share our unique approach to helping businesses with technical recruiting, one of the most pressing challenges many companies face.

On the subject of recruiting top talent, we are proud to announce the role of Jason Greer as Managing Director to build and run this new initiative.

of Missoula, Mont. A native and graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Jason is an accomplished business leader, angel investor, non-profit board member, cancer survivor, author, musician, husband and father of 3. – Twin girls.

In the year In 2019, he was named a finalist in EY’s National Entrepreneur of the Year program from the Pacific Northwest, in part for his work creating a unique internship program for software developers from El Salvador, an initiative GeekWire wrote about that year.

During his time at GenUI, Jason built a rapidly growing recruiting business. Its quirky approach to entrepreneurship, its community values, and its philanthropy are a perfect fit for GeekWire.

“I’m excited to join the team after reading GeekWire almost every day since moving to Seattle,” he said. I’m happy to connect GeekWire readers looking to hire with those looking for the perfect new opportunity. We’re very grateful for the response GeekWork has already received from the Seattle community, and we’re excited to get to work supporting the program’s first partners.

“Recruiting a new team member into the right role has been one of the most rewarding things in my career so far – when you help someone find the right fit, it’s good for everyone. With GeekWire, and our GeekWork program, I can now do this on a larger scale.

Please join us in welcoming Jason to the team and join us next week in person or online at the GeekWire Summit to learn more about this new effort to connect the community. Want to learn more about GeekWork and connect with Jason? Email him at jason@geekwire.com.
