Georgia Tech Saturday was another stepping stone to football season as 2022 celebrated media day. Offensive and defensive players were both available for interviews and one of the most interesting media days was defensive end Kenny Bennett.
Bennett is coming to Georgia Tech after spending his entire college career at the University of Maryland. One of the most experienced defensive backs, he wants to be the leader of the Yellow Jackets in 2022.
Bennett spoke with AllYellowJackets and asked him about his time at Maryland and what Georgia Tech needs to do to get back to winning football games and improve as a program. “I think I can bring a lot of wisdom on and off the field and show guys how to be professional on and off the field and how to go about their business, watch film, practice and be a professional leader,” Bennett said.
I wanted to ask Bennett where the staff lines up on defense and where we can expect to see him. He knows the one place they’ll see him this season is on special teams. “I’ll definitely be on special teams, but defensively, I’m very versatile and have the ability to slot in anywhere.”

Bennett came to Georgia Tech with a reputation as a great special teams player. Georgia Tech fans can expect to see Bennett play on the side of the ball and provide depth in the defensive backfield.
Fall camp is underway for Georgia Tech and they are working to prepare for their opener against Clemson on September 5th.
