Tallulah, La. (KNOE) – A state Medicaid company and community outreach teamed up Saturday morning to bring the Tullah community together.
The City of Tallulah is keeping its residents happy, healthy and in shape with the “On the Move” program, a health and recreation fair hosted by AmeriHealth Caritas Luusiani. The event was held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10am to 2pm at Wright Elementary School.
Before the fair started swinging into gear, a community awareness rally took place a mile away. The rally started at 9:30 a.m. at Madison Apartments with the theme of “No Guns, Know God, Know God.” Participants in the peaceful rally prayed for awareness about gun violence in the city and ended at Wright Elementary School. A health fair has begun.
“On the Move” participants underwent health screenings, participated in Zumba activities, watched live music and enjoyed popcorn.
Grover Harrison, III, director of community education and outreach for AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana, said the organization will return to Tallulah in 2023 for another “On the Move” and other community events.
