Las Vegas–(–A group of workers’ compensation experts will present an innovative, hands-on approach to mental health treatment at this year’s National Workers’ Compensation and Disability Conference. Pearl Monroe, Vice President, MC Innovations, LLC; Karen Thomas, Vice President, Clinical Solutions, Corval; and Gerry Stanley, MD, SVP and Chief Medical Officer, Harvard MedTech, will collaborate on “Solutions for the Mental Health Epidemic” on Wednesday, October 19.Th 3:30pm in Las Vegas.

“Our approach is inspired by the immersive, multi-media great art shows with a lens to experience the power of virtual reality as a group,” said Dr. Stanley. “We hope people come away from our sessions not only educated, but also inspired and ready to try something new.”

During the session, attendees will learn about the mental health issues facing today’s injured workers, how the brain processes stress, including depression, anxiety and PTSD, and how new treatments are helping people overcome behavioral health issues by changing the way the brain works. Information. For example, Vx® Therapy, a combination of virtual reality, behavioral training and artificial intelligence, is recognized as an effective solution for treating trauma and related conditions, including chronic or acute pain, depression, anxiety, sleep issues and PTSD-related symptoms.

“As nurses, we know all too well the impact psychological and mental health issues can have on an injured worker and their recovery,” Thomas said. “We now have tools that can be deployed early in conjunction with medical care. Our nurses and our automated claims system can act immediately when these situations are identified as possible.”

“Municipal workers’ caregiving often creates situations where first responders or other workers may experience post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or pain-related depression and anxiety,” Monroe said. “We are excited to find a solution that helps these workers without drugs or unnecessary surgery and to share that solution with NWCD participants.”

In addition to meeting at the event, attendees can meet speakers and other experts on this topic at Harvard MedTech Booth #561 and CorVel Booth #821.
