Kanye West said that now he only pursues fashion projects on his own.

During an interview with Bloomberg, Donna the rapper said that he has decided that his future fashion projects will be released without the interference of other brands.

The 45-year-old has previously worked with sports giants such as Adidas and Nike, as well as Gap.

“It’s time for me to go it alone,” Kanye told the newspaper. “It’s good. I made the companies money. The companies made me money. We created ideas that changed clothing forever.”

He lists the ideas he believes changed the fashion industry: “The round jacket, the foam runner, the slides that changed the shoe industry.”

But the rapper explained that this is no longer enough.

Now is the time to make the new industry. There are no companies standing between me and the audience,” he said.

Kanye had Adidas CEO Casper Rested call his Yeezy Slide designs “obvious copies” back in June, after the company released the Adilette 22 shoe, available in the same colorway as the Yeezy Slide.

Of the event, he said, “Nobody should be caught in a place where they’re going to steal from them and say we’re paying you to keep quiet… It kills creativity. That kills creativity. That’s what killed Nikola Tesla.”

Bloomberg reports that Kanye wants to open Donda “campuses” across the US, which include stores, schools, farms and dorms. Products sold on the premises are designed by Yeezy staff.
