new york–(Business Wire–Tapestry, Inc. and Kate Spade New York announced today a three-year partnership with Harlem Fashion Row’s annual HBCU Fashion Summit. As part of Tapestry and Kate Spade New York’s ongoing commitment to support and nurture the next generation of diverse fashion talent, the program offers students from Bowie State University – Maryland’s oldest historically black university – a unique opportunity to meet with the Kate Spade New York team. The 2022 HBCU Fashion Summit will include a special course called Tenacity Talks for Bowie State University students. The curriculum begins September 27 through the spring semester, with topics including:

- RTW, shoes, jewelry, eyewear
- For additional design items
- Mental health and the fashion industry
Harlem Fashion Row is committed to creating opportunities for designers of color and nurturing the growth of emerging fashion professionals. Tapestry’s three-year partnership with the organization will eventually include leaders from international production houses Coach And Stuart Weightman. By helping to transform and expand fashion programs at historically black colleges and universities, this program aims to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the broader fashion industry. As part of the initiative, Tapestry will sponsor Bowie State University’s Senior Capstone Fashion Show and provide students with industry experience through hands-on opportunities at a roster of brands.
