Key Health Sector Achievements in Syria, January – July 2022 – Syrian Arab Republic

• Health sector needs and strategy developed in HNO 2022 and HRP 2022-2023 through WoS approach.
• 18 health sector organizations (20 projects) participated in HRP projects with health sector projects. 1 Project paper on “Health Sector Coordination” is presented.
100% weekly (14) national health sector coordination meetings in Damascus.
• 100% monthly (28) provincial health sector coordination meetings (Latakia/Tartus, Aleppo/NSS, Qamishli/NS, Homs/Hama/Idlib, Deir ez-Zoir). The southern remains are covered from Damascus.
• 6 sub-sector working groups have been activated: RH, MHPSS, RCCE, Trauma/Disability, IM, Reconstruction/Rehabilitation.
• 2 quarterly health sector coordination meetings (1 national, 7 sub-national, 6 sub-sector WG) are organized.
• 2 Quarterly lists detailed information on Syrian contacts in the health sector.
• 6 monthly (January to June) 4W 2022 HRP distributed.
• Mid-year PMR has not started yet.
• Prepared 2 updates of Health Sector Field Directory (January and May).
• Syria Health Sector Projects 1 inventory.
• 2nd quarter overview of capacity building activities produced.
• 2 Quarterly overview of health sector reconstruction and rehabilitation.
• 1 Health sector assistance is provided with medical equipment across the country.
• Necessary advice was given to the WHO Partnerships Unit to launch National NGO Forums.
