WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A Wichita lawn business owner has his sights set on a yard that needs some cleaning. The work he does is free and he has recorded himself doing it and is attracting millions on social media.
12 News explores how a local business owner’s goodwill project turned out to be more than he imagined.
He happened to be with Spencer Bosley, or “Spencer B” with SB Mowing, going up to Mark Eden’s door, offering to help tend the yard.
The work comes at no cost.
“He thought I was knocking on the door to get a job that would pay me for it. He said he didn’t have a dime to his name,” Bosley recalled.
“He is a messenger of God,” said Eden Bosley. [him]He said.
Last year, Bosley began volunteering his time and talents to homeowners around Wichita. He documents his progress in their backyards by sharing videos on YouTube and social media.
When Bosley shared part one of his work on Eden’s backyard, there was an immediate response, all because of Eden, who served in the Army for nine years.
“I’ve gotten thousands of comments from people saying, ‘Hey, how about donating to this guy? “We’d love to help a veteran,” Bosley said.
In an effort to protect Eden’s backyard, Bosley came back with a surprise for the veteran on Wednesday: $10,000. That’s what Bosley picked up from his audience in just a few days. He raised $500 of the total.
“I thought he was joking, W. And to be honest, at 66, I have never had so much money in my hand. Wow,” Eden said.
He said the unexpected donation would relieve some of his stress.
“This guy is worth his weight in gold,” Eden said of Bosley. He only has a big heart and a sincere heart.
