Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under “Staff.” Often “staff” records are used to rewrite basic news summaries from official sources, such as a city press release about road closures, and require little or no reporting. Sometimes this line is used when a news story involves multiple authors, or when the story is created by gathering previously reported news from different sources. If external sources are used, it is written in the story.
