RICKSBURG – Local restaurant Crispy Cones is ready to take the dessert industry by storm with its unique ice cream cone.
If you haven’t experienced it, a Crispy Cone is a fresh dough cone fried rotisserie-style and covered in cinnamon and sugar. It can be topped with hazelnut chocolate or cookie butter or gourmet soft serve ice cream. Rexburg owners Caitlin and Jeremy Carlson believe their crisp, crunchy cones (a local favorite) have what it takes to be the next big thing in the dessert industry.
This wave of flavor may be on its way to a larger audience sooner than you think. The Carlsons were recently offered the opportunity to pitch their product on the popular TV show Shark Tank. They applied to appear on the show in January 2022, and thought it was an exciting opportunity.

“We never thought this would happen,” Caitlin told EastidahoNews.com. “We didn’t think it was something we could do.”
The main goal of going on Shark Tank was simple: get help growing. In September 2022, they had a chance to do just that.
“It was surreal to be in front of those famous people,” Caitlin recalls.

Crispy Cones was originally launched as a restaurant in 2018. There are now 11 Crispy Cones franchise locations in Arizona and Utah, as well as two corporate offices: one in Rexburg and one in Logan, Utah.
The Carlsons love being a part of the Rexburg community. They are opening a new building in the Thornton area. This will serve as the new Rexburg headquarters and warehouse.
“It was great to grow up there and have a job,” Caitlin said.
The Carlsons will share their Shark Tank experience with the world this Friday at 7pm on ABC.
