Money talks, and Lori Harvey’s money-green puffer dress is telling us it’s time to wrap up for fall at New York Fashion Week. On September 8, the model attended Vogue’s NYFW kickoff event in an iridescent mini dress, which featured Look 12 from Christian Cowan’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Harvey completed the look with diamond earrings and white Christian Louboutin Style Kate Patent Leather 120 pumps. She wore her hair in a straight bob and rocked bold mascara and a two-tone lip for the evening soiree.
Embellished by Elie Karamoh, this Harvey dress is made from a shimmering quoit fabric with a high collar and voluminous statement sleeves. The zip-front dress featured a thigh-high slit that disappeared under an oversized ring belt around her waist, with an equally eye-catching strip of fabric forming a figure-hugging skirt past the dress’s emerald ribbed hemline. As we create our style boards for fall, Harvey’s dress is a useful reminder that the right coat can—or might—do it.
For Harvey, a New York Fashion Week regular, her look is just one of many we can expect to see her make her acting debut next week. One of the model’s most memorable NYFW looks in the past was an all-white Michael Kors blazer and tailored pants. Most recently, Harvey stepped out in a high-slit hooded slip dress from Greg Lauren’s Spring 2015 collection for the premiere of Netflix’s “Me Time.” Just before the premiere, she rocked a leopard-print catsuit by Laquan Smith for a night out.
