Harrisonburg, Va. – James Madison Athletic Director Jeff Bourne He announced his appointment Mc Hart As Assistant Athletic Director Business and Finance. Hart has joined JMU since the same time he was at ETSU.
“Mc Hart “He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the JMU Athletics Business Office. We are very excited about this position and being part of our success and bright future at JMU Athletics,” Byrne said. Mack has worked at various levels of athletics and at various institutions in all parts of the country. That experience will serve us well as we grow and learn to manage our financial resources responsibly.
Hart has been on staff at ETSU since 2014 as senior associate AD for administration and chief financial officer. In addition to his sports medicine, equipment department, ticket office and business office roles, he served as the athletic director for eight programs. Manages the department budget and fulfills human resource obligations for the department staff.

Previous stops for Hart have covered a variety of schools at various NCAA levels, both in and out of athletics, and a diverse geographic footprint. Prior to ETSU, he served as Deputy Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration at Idaho State University. That followed a nine-year stint as associate AD for business and compliance for Providence’s athletic program.
Other career stops for Hart include Albion College, Hartford, Utah, UConn, William & Mary and Dartmouth. He has also worked with several Division I institutions for Collegiate Sports Associates, a consulting firm.
Hart graduated from Northwestern with a bachelor’s degree in political science.He received his master’s degree from UMass-Amherst in 1984 and a master’s of business administration from Providence in 2007.
