Martin, McDaniel Advance to Round of 16 – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets


Plates – The Georgia Tech men’s tennis doubles team; Andres Martin And Marcus McDanielHe won twice in the first round of doubles play and advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships.

The two Jackets faced Vanderbilt’s Sim Trost and Jeremy Casabon. Tech won the first set with ease 6-2 before going on to win 7-5 to take second in the tiebreaker.

Thursday’s competition will double the round of 16 and quarter-finals due to weather conditions earlier on Tuesday.

Martin and McDaniel will play Michigan State’s Ozanne Barris and Max Sheldon on Thursday at 2 p.m. Barris and Sheldon earned their spot in the Round of 16 after defeating No. 1 seed South Carolina.
