YOUNGSTOWN – The Mahoning County Board of Mental Health and Rehabilitation honored this year’s Mental Health and Rehabilitation Award winners at its annual recognition luncheon at the Tyler History Center.
This year’s honorees included individuals and organizations throughout the Valley who are committed to addressing the mental health and recovery needs of residents in Mahoning County. The 2022 award recipients are:
– Adult Advocate of the Year: Cassandra Kornbaugh, DNP
– Children’s Advocate of the Year: Erica Brown – ACLD Fire
– Crisis Incident Stress Management Award: Sgt. Boardman Police Dept. Chuck Hillman.
– Crisis Intervention Training Officer of the Year: Sgt. Robert J. of the Mill Creek Police Department. Vukovich
– Eagle Award: Mark Like of Mahoning Valley Dispute Resolution
– Frontline Workers of the Year (Vanguard Award): Sean Robinson of Meridian Healthcare
– Leader of the Year: Joe Shorocki of Alta Behavioral Health Care
– Program of the Year: Mahoning Valley Mobile Market – Jeff Madada of Flying High Inc. and Rose Carter of Practice Youngstown
– Support Staff of the Year (Pillar Award): Ashley Mariano, East Ohio Educational Service Center
“We are honored and grateful for the work these individuals and organizations have done throughout our community. Together, it is their tireless work, innovative ideas, and innovative approaches to mental health and rehabilitation services that support the health and well-being of our Valley.” Duane Piccirelli, executive director of the Mahoning County Board of Mental Health and Rehabilitation, said.
