March 10 (Reuters) – Meta Platforms Inc ( META.O ) said on Friday it is exploring strategic alternatives to its acquisition of customer services company Kustomer, which ended last year.

“We are currently exploring strategic options for Kustomer and will continue to support Kustomer’s product and customer base during this process,” the Facebook owner said in a statement to Reuters, without providing further details on the options.

The Wall Street Journal, which first reported the news on Friday, said Meta plans to oust Kustomer as it looks to focus on its core business, citing people familiar with the company and the proposed deal.

Kustomer sells CRM software to communicate with consumers via phone, email, text message, WhatsApp, Instagram and other channels. It has seen its use increase during the Covid-19 pandemic.
