The embattled businessman has resigned from the board of directors of Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Mike Golub has been fired as president of business for the Portland Timbers and Thorns, following a report this week in the National Women’s Soccer League.

A report by the US Soccer Federation found evidence of systematic emotional abuse and sexual misconduct in the sport. Two former Portland Thorns players have come forward in 2014 and 2015 to say they were harassed by a coach, and the team is accused of trying to interfere with investigators.

Golub has been accused of contributing to a “toxic” work environment and disrespect and bullying of women over an 11-year period, The Oregonian reported.

Online users have called on OPB to remove Golub, who has been on the board since 2017. He tweeted. They were holding or canceling membership commitments until Golub resigned or was dismissed.

Gavin Wilkinson has been sacked from his role as president of football for the Timbers and Thorns.

OPB’s statement on Golub’s resignation can be read here.
