Masoglia’s work focuses on the social consequences of the expansion of the criminal system, the relationship between the use of law enforcement and demographic change in the United States, and the consequences for criminal behavior over the life course. Current research projects examine the historical disparity of criminal displacement in the United States, as well as the relationship between prison and neighborhood presence and racial composition. Massoglia teaches courses in criminology, delinquency and deviance. It is related to it Center for Population and Ecology and the Center for Law, Society and Justice.
