World Health Organization (WHO) published New online training module It aims to support countries, international organizations and partners to work together to increase efforts to control and eliminate neglected tropical diseases. WHO main NTD roadmap document.
The One Health approach recognizes that the relationship between human, animal and environmental health is key to sustainably addressing neglected tropical diseases and achieving the goals set by the World Health Organization’s 2021-2030 Roadmap for Neglected Tropical Diseases.
At its core, One Health is about understanding “whole system” relationships and bringing together relevant stakeholders and sectors to take an integrated approach when appropriate. The first step is simple: explore where a one health approach would be appropriate and create collaboration between relevant disciplines and disciplines to understand the relationships between people, animals and the environment and the need for integrated health interventions.
WHO invites all interested parties – public, human and animal health professionals, program managers, representatives of national and international organizations and non-governmental actors – to take the course on One Health, to continue the fight against neglected tropical diseases.
