Oregon won a dramatic game Friday night, defeating Oral Roberts 9-8 to take a 1-0 win in the Super Regional round of the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament.
It was against all odds. After a strong start in the first and second, things went away from Ducks starter Grayson Greensell. Oral Roberts jumped out to an 8-0 lead and went on to score 8 runs in the top of the 3rd. This is the only one she has written for many groups.
But Oregon has slowly but surely gotten back into things. Jacob Walsh started Oregon’s comeback bid with a single to left field.

Bennett Thompson did the same the following at-bat.

Thompson also scored Oregon’s next run of the game, sending a 3-run homer over the wall to cut the deficit to 3. Drew Cawley took it from there.
Cowley was responsible for 2 of Oregon’s final 4 runs, including a walk off RBI double. You don’t get a better sports moment than this Friday night:

Incredibly, this is the first time a team has come back from such a deficit in the Super Regional round of the tournament. Previous teams were 0-96 heading into Friday.
Oregon could punch its ticket to Omaha Saturday against Oral Roberts. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 pm PT on ESPN.
