Lil Uzi Vert recently joined Paramore on stage, performing their hit single “Misery Business.”
The live collaboration took place on the second night of Paramore’s Madison Square Garden shows. Uzi take the usual fan position to sing the bridge with front woman Hayley Williams. Rapper Williams sang the bridge first with a small turnout from the crowd before officially thanking him. “Hey Uzi, we’ve been talking for a minute, but this is the first time we’ve met in person,” she said. “I love you. You’ve said so many nice things about me. You’re so sweet to me and Paramore.”
As the instrumental solo continued, the two enjoyed dancing around the stage, followed by a final performance by the chorus of the song.
Over the years, Uzi has been very open about his love for Williams, speaking with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe in 2017. “She’s like the best. It’s hard to top that. She is like the best, there is no other brother in my generation alone,” he said. A few years later, Williams revealed that she collaborated with Uzi because of the timing and her decision to stay out of the spotlight. “…I literally wrote it on Instagram and said, ‘Dude, I love you so much, but I don’t want to be that famous.’ I told him we were getting ready to take a break. Obviously there are a lot of issues that nobody knows about and I was like, ‘Brother, I just have to disappear. I don’t want to be that kind of celebrity.’
Elsewhere in music, Arctic Monkeys performed “Mardi Boom” for the first time in 10 years.
