Phipps Conservatory’s latest exhibit brings runways and nature together with a colorful display of dresses made from natural materials. The exhibition titled “Flowers Meet Fashion: Inspired by Billy Porter” opened on May 6 and will continue until June 25.
The exhibition will feature several displays of gowns created by six professional fashion designers and costumers with the help of students from Carnegie Mellon University and Pittsburgh School of Design and Arts 6-12.
The fashion designs, which appear amid flowers and horticulture, are inspired by Porter’s “local roots and work as an award-winning actor, singer, director, composer and playwright.” Phipps website. Porter is originally from Pittsburgh and attended Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.
