Schools across Los Angeles County are participating in $18 million in state grants over the next four years in an effort to connect underrepresented students with careers in health and technology. Five California State Universities in the region will be part of the LA Region K-16 Collaborative Grant and will receive $3 million in grant funding. According to the Los Angeles Daily News.

The schools concerned must achieve specific goals within four years to ensure accountability as they work to build roads and establish resources. Funding was organized by local non-profit UNITE-LA to address educational and workforce gaps caused by equity and racism.
