Staunton, Va.

Businesses in the town center welcomed thousands of people back to the streets of Staunton.

Sam Boserman, QCMM “Head Woman” “The businesses and the restaurants say that this really gives them a month’s worth of income in two days.

There were also some new storefronts that chose to open this weekend.

Sweet Addie’s is new to Beverly Street and has been offering walk-up orders since Saturday.

“We’re so excited that the business owners are getting into the spirit and we have so many nonprofits at this festival for so many fundraisers,” Boserman said.

According to Bosserman, this festival brings people from all over to create their own magic for the weekend.

“We have a lot of people coming back to Staunton to check out and stay in the off-season, and because of this festival some people are moving here,” Boserman said.

Festival goers and volunteers dress up as their favorite Harry Potter or magical character or creature to get into the festive spirit.

“Thank you to everyone who came out, dressed up, bought stuff, supported the businesses on these streets,” said Jenny Sonkson, who wore Fleur Delacour.
