We are delighted to announce that Rob Copeland has joined Business as a reporter in the finance team.

Rob comes to us from The Wall Street Journal, where he has written for nine years about finance, Silicon Valley and most recently Elon Musk.

Rob Lacroix and Martin Shkreli’s Undercover Prison Business Secret Traction partnered with Bradley Hope to discover unique and colorful features from a wide range of assets and topics. While Rob is based in Austin, Elon Musk says he lives in a condo while living in a cabin.

Next year, St. Martin’s Press will publish his first book, “The Fund: Ray Dalio, Bridgewater Associates and the Unraveling of a Wall Street Legend.”

“Rob has a top-shelf story instinct and the compelling reporting skills necessary to hunt down killer stories,” says Tripp Mickle, who worked with Rob at the Journal. “At heart, he’s a serious, pushy reporter. Slyly stubborn. Unrelenting in enthusiasm.”

Before joining the Journal, Rob was a reporter for the hedge-fund publication Absolute Return and the short-lived wire service NewsCore. He graduated from Duke University with a degree in economics and history.

Rob starts on December 12th.
