An elbow soreness kept Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford out of all three of the Rams’ preseason games last month. But how does he feel before Thursday’s season opener?
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Rams head coach Sean McVay was tight-lipped on Stafford’s health. He declared that there would be “no hesitation” and no limits on Stafford no matter how many times he needed to throw against the Buffalo Bills.
“He’ll be ready to go,” McVay said.
That would certainly be good news for the Rams, who choose not to start John Wolford or Bryce Perkins for their Football 1 defensive end.
The Los Angeles Rams paid a hefty price to bring Matthew Stafford into the fold, and the rewards were immediate as he set several team records en route to winning Super Bowl LVI.
After the season, the Rams awarded Stafford a four-year, $160 million contract extension with $120 million guaranteed and a $63 million signing bonus. Apparently, they have every confidence that Ram Stafford will bring them back to the Promised Land at least once.
Stafford’s first test of the season, however, will be his biggest. The Buffalo Bills are considered favorites to win Super Bowl LVI and boast a superior defense from last year — a defense that now includes former Bills linebacker Von Miller.
Will Matthew Stafford be fit to lead the Rams to victory?
