Shania Twain’s music is compelling, but the fashion ends the story.
Twain, who will be honored at Tuesday’s ACM Honors event airing on FOX, told Fox News Digital why fashion is so important to her.
“I believe that fashion is really part of the representation of the songs,” Twain told Fox News Digital.
“At the root of the songwriting, it’s the skeleton of everything, then the performance, the stage, the videos and the fashion – all of that is behind the beauty and at the forefront of everything that represents and delivers the music,” she added.

Twain wore two outfits to appear at the ACM honors. She kicked off the night in a gorgeous black gown teamed with a leopard print cowboy hat and matching boots.
She later changed her gold dress to gold to receive her award.
During the awards show airing tonight, Twain was honored by Avril Lavigne, Kelsea Ballerini and Tyra Kennedy. Each performer sang a rendition of the country music star’s music catalog and paid tribute to Twain in fashion.
Ballerini wore the same dress Twain wore to the 1999 Grammy Awards. The all white dress has long sleeves and a high neckline. Twain wore the gown to accept two Grammys; One for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and one for Best Country Song.
“I’m very angry,” Twain told Entertainment Weekly on the red carpet. “She looks amazing. She looks like an absolute angel. It’s so nice to see her in her dress, and she even wants to dress up. “I hope it’s not too dusty after being in the Grammy Museum. ”
Lavigne also paid tribute to Twain in her dress for the ACM tribute. The Canadian singer donned a leopard print outfit and mocked Twain’s outfit for the music video for “That Doesn’t Surprise Me Much.”
At the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, Lavigne told Fox News Digital, “I honored Shania Twain with the Poet Laureate and performed her song ‘Nobody Needs to Know.’ I sang with her on stage when I was 14 years old; I won a competition on a local radio station to sing with her. Of course that was very helpful and created a lot of buzz around me.
“I think she does that for young artists because it’s so cool,” Lavigne said. “She’s amazing, she’s really inspired me, she’s an amazing songwriter, and she’s Canadian with a bang.”
Twain is being honored with the Poet Laureate. According to the Country Music Academy, “This award is given to a country music singer for his outstanding and long musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout his career.”

Twain responded to the award on Twitter.
“Chin up and I’m hooked!! I spent the night in the historic Ryman Hall surrounded by my friends, fellow songwriters and my beautiful fans,” Twain wrote after taping the awards show.
“Receiving the @ACMawards Poet Laureate was a dream come true,” she added. “But spending the night with so many of my friends – who can I add, cheery, kick** ladies(!!) made it all the more dreamy!!”
Twain focused on sharing her art with young singers by showcasing women just starting out in the country music industry.
“As I said in my long speech tonight, what would my advice be to young songwriters, especially women starting out,” she told Fox News Digital.
“It’s part of the journey, and you have to accept that there will be other people, other writers, other artists who are stronger and better than you. You can grow and learn, and you have to accept that. It’s okay. To give up.”
