As another fashion month approaches where all eyes are firmly locked on Spring/Summer 2023, Skepta has established himself as a UK style icon.
2022 is one of Skep’s biggest years yet. In the year A trip to the US in 2015 was the spark that sparked a huge boom for Grimm, who is sure to reach new heights internationally, but 2022 is set to be one of the busiest and most active years of his life.
Since returning to DJ behind the yacht in honor of the late Virgil Abloh on the Ibiza DC-10, he has collaborated with Sotheby’s and collaborated with PUMA for the first time as an artist.
Of course, his busy schedule would be incomplete without conquering a continent between fashion weeks.
Over the past few years, Skepta has become a major presence at international fashion weeks, putting his best foot forward during his strong style at the calendar’s biggest shows.
Many of these looks were memorable – the biggest being at Virgil Abloh’s FW19, SS20 and Fall 2022 shows, as well as Dior SS19 and ALYX SS20.
The SS23 shows for 2022 saw the star present again, in a series of PUMA Sports Club looks at New York Fashion Week – from a new partnership via Big Smoke Corp, perhaps?
On his way to Milan, Skippy stepped out for the Glenn Martens Diesel show, sporting a full diesel look. Above, a red distressed cap provided a pop of color, offsetting the washed brown coat and blue jeans and red heeled boots.
Bali, on the other hand, was a more casual affair, with a blue and gray monogrammed sweater paired with dark denim jeans and low-top black sneakers.
Back in London for the Burberry SS23 show (Riccardo Tisci’s last collection before Daniel Lee took the helm), Skepta donned black leather dungarees, a short-sleeved black tee and black pumps.
Although fashion month may be drawing to a close, there are a few big shows ahead, so don’t be surprised if you see Skep ‘ Off-White or Issey Miyake don another big look this week.
