SALISBURY – September is the time for the annual Associates of Learning fashion show, and this year it’s back in person.

Norma Honeycutt, Executive Director of Partners In Learning said, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year, no, it’s not Christmas.

Partners in Education’s sixth annual “Just Like Me” Special Needs Fashion Show will be held on Thursday, September 8th at 6pm. “After two years of being virtual, we knew we had to do something to celebrate in person. This year, we’ve secured hometown stars to put on a show that brings high energy, passion and excitement,” said Director of Development Amy Vestal.

3 Jem and TikTok stars Jenna Faggart and Meredith Little will MC this year’s event, and Emily Stamper will be working behind the scenes to make sure the models are runway ready.

“3 Jem has been a supporter of our fashion show since the beginning. To decorate our families in modern fashion and donate the clothes to the models. Being a fashion show, we want to focus on fashion and fun for our sixth year. “During the outbreak, I joined Tik Tok and started following the three of them and their store. They can always brighten my day with their energy and positivity. This is what we need for our first in-person event. And I was delighted when they agreed to be our MC,” said Vestal.

Faggart, known as jenna.and.her.gents on TikTok, posts positive dance and funny content and has more than 700,000 followers and was on NBC’s Dance with Myself. She was also a teacher before she and her sisters opened 3 Gem Boutique. “Besides the fame, what makes them great for this show, they’re all moms. “Moms know how to communicate with little ones, make them smile and most importantly, have fun,” says Amy Vestal.

We are beyond honored to have been asked to MC this year’s “Just Like Me” fashion show. We love everything he stands for and are lucky to be a part of it. We can’t wait to bring the excitement and see these amazing kids strut their stuff down the runway!” says Faggart.

The annual Special Needs Fashion Show is in memory of former student Jacob Usher, who had Down syndrome and died at the age of seven from a heart defect when he was born Just Like Me. It provides awareness of developmental disorders and the community and a desire to serve families in our community. Funds raised from this annual event support the Partners in Learning Dr. Shirley P. Ritchie Scholarship Fund. Our scholarships help provide financial assistance to families who cannot afford educational or therapeutic services, adaptive equipment, classroom support and materials, and family support services.

This year’s fashion show will also include an online silent auction. For those who can’t

Attend in person, the show will be streamed live on YouTube.

Donations can be made by sending a check to 2386 Robin Rd. Salisbury, NC 28144 or by visiting epartnersinlearning.org. Tickets for the event can also be purchased on their website.
