Plates – On the first day of competition at the ACC Outdoor Championships, the Georgia Tech track and field teams set several personal and season best marks in various events.
Jamie Gibson The day started for Tech in the men’s hammer throw. Gibson threw a season best of 56.69 meters (186-0).
In the long jump, Mikayla Williams He led the women with a new PR (5.75m/18-10.5) and Cameron O’Neill He finished 10th overall for the boys (7.16m/23-6).
Tech began the track meet with the 400-meter hurdles preliminaries. Lydia’s team Tech’s three female contestants placed 12th with 59.80 and Jackson Sexton He finished 14th in the men’s race (53.74).
Chris Cherano He was the top performer among the five jackets in the men’s 1500m preliminaries. Cherono ran a personal best time of 3:47.03 to finish 21st overall.
Women’s 10,000m Liz Galarza He led Tech to a 13th-place finish with a time of 34:48.87.
