The Ann Arbor Probability Marathon returns with a focus on mental health

Ann Arbor – Hit the streets of downtown with this year’s Probility Ann Arbor Marathon to promote wellness and combat the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

On Sunday, Oct. 2, runners will glide through the University of Michigan’s central campus, the Nicholl Arboretum, part of the Huron River, and trails close to (and from) Washtenaw Community College.

At the event, participants can run the full marathon (26.2 miles), half marathon, 10K and 5K, or run as a virtual marathon home. There are also kids’ “marathon” and “half-marathon” options, and a 19-mile training run.

The full marathon can be run by individuals, or teams of 4 can sign up to run a relay. Find race maps over here.

Each year, the event pledges to support local charities and organizations along with the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor. During the event, local organizations that support mental health will be introduced Free entries They are available for addiction recovery.

All races begin at 8 a.m. on South 5th Street between Hill and Madison streets.

This year, event organizer Epic Races is offering a new promotional and wellness opportunity for local businesses, the Corporate Wellness Program.

“Since the pandemic has put pressure on local businesses and their employees, we’ve been trying to think of additional ways to support our local communities and our participants,” said Epic Race CEO Eva Solomon. In release. “This corporate wellness initiative is the result of our ongoing commitment to the health and fitness of our neighbors, as well as an example of how local companies like ours can work together with their communities in a healthy and productive way. The Health Initiative offers businesses and corporate partners the opportunity to create their own team and receive promotional benefits, including introductory discounts, logo opportunities and swag bag submissions.
