Seven more Boone County residents have been added to the county’s Covid-19 death total.
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services said Friday that the deaths occurred between early July and mid-August. All but one of the dead were people 80 and older. One death was in the 70-74 age group, the department reported.
Boone County’s total number of deaths since the start of the Covid-19 outbreak in early 2020 has reached 255.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 47 new corona virus victims have reached 51,226. The department has reported 43 COVID-19 patients in Boone County hospitals, including five in intensive care and three on ventilators. According to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard.
The county hospital’s status was yellow, indicating some procedures or transfers were being delayed.
Most central Missouri counties have low or moderate levels of community exposure to COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. State health officials reported Friday.. The only exception was Randolph County, which was in the high community ranking category.
Community rates take into account both new cases and hospital residents.
