The fashion industry reacted to the death of Queen Elizabeth II at the age of 96

Tributes are pouring in for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the United Kingdom’s longest reigning monarch, who died at her Balmoral home in Scotland on Thursday, September 8, aged 96.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty the Queen,” Burberry wrote on Instagram. We join the royal family in their grief. On Thursday night, a representative of Burberry said that the British fashion house will cancel the London Fashion Week show on September 17 “as a sign of respect”.

The British Fashion Council (BFC) posted on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family as we celebrate the Queen’s life and remember her unique legacy. It was a great honor for Her Majesty to launch the QEII Awards for British Design at London Fashion Week in 2018, which recognize the excellence and positive impact of design.

The BFC post continued: “Her Majesty’s effortless style, elegance and sense of joy is evident and her passion for supporting young creatives will continue to inspire the next generation.”

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty the Queen,” Burberry wrote. We join the royal family in their grief.

Christopher Kane wrote: “We are deeply saddened by the news of Her Majesty the Queen’s passing.” “Our condolences go out to the rest of the royal family. We pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen and her services to the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. Rest in peace.”
