Women’s club since 1913 Hollister has been giving back to the community through events, volunteering and attending conventions. Now the Women’s Club is hosting its third annual Beauty Strong Woman Fashion Show on October 8th.
As part of a national organization of women’s clubs, Hollister Women and Girls is committed to making a positive difference. The group participated in projects such as Comfort and Care Bundle and Laundry to Read.
“Over the years we’ve tried different fundraising ideas,” said committee chair Kimberly Kimber. “We have very fashionable members, so it seemed logical to try a fashion show.”
The fashion show will feature clothes from three women’s businesses: Irma Fashions, Mrs. BZ Botta and Bella Cham. Each store showcases the latest trends and casual, business and formal wear to suit the fall season. This year’s show will have 12 models, including members of various women’s clubs.
There will also be several gift basket raffles, including a wine basket, spa basket, garden basket, baby basket and Halloween basket.
Hollister Irma Fashions Showcases Third Year Products Store owner Karen Tonasia said this show will be special because it will be their first show since the outbreak.
“A lot of people in the women’s club are our customers and we think they are amazing people, so we hope that participating in this event will show the audience what we have to offer,” added Tonasia.
Bella Charm at Hollister has participated in many fashion shows over the 20 years in the business.
“We enjoy showcasing our items at fashion shows and have been associated with the Women’s Club for some time. It’s a really fun and positive event,” said owner Lynn Shafer.
She specializes in vintage clothing at Mrs. B’s Z-location in San Juan Bautista. They participated in the Women’s Club fashion shows every year.
“This event is something I always look forward to,” said owner Patricia Barnes. “After the shutdown due to covid, ‘going on the show’ will be fun! I look forward to working with these amazing women again and doing my part to help others.
Tickets for the event are $50 each. Proceeds support local needs such as high school scholarships, comfort and care packages, and Girls Inc. Full list of supported groups over here.
