The Tech ACC men’s basketball schedule has been announced

blacksburg – The Atlantic Coast Conference unveiled its 2022-23 men’s basketball schedule Tuesday afternoon, with Virginia Tech opening its league slate Sunday, Dec. 4 against North Carolina at Cassel Coliseum.

Overall, the Hokies have six ACC weekend games starting Jan. 23 with Big Monday vs. It will host last season’s ACC title game in a rematch with Duke. Commonwealth clash rival Virginia visits Cassel this weekend – Saturday 4th February.

Among Tech’s 20 league games, the Hokies are set for home-and-home dates against Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Miami, Syracuse and Virginia. Additionally, VT welcomes Florida State, North Carolina, NC State and Pitt to Blacksburg, while the Hokies travel to Georgia Tech, Louisville, Notre Dame and Wake Forest.


Tech tips off a previously announced 11-game conference slate with Delaware State on Monday, Nov. 7.


On Saturday, Dec. 17, Tech travels to Boston College (Dec. 21) and Wake Forest (Dec. 31) to close out 2022 with a final non-conference tilt against Gramming State. home games against Clemson (Jan. 4) and NC State (Jan. 7).


The Commonwealth clash presented at Smithfield features the Hokies and Cavaliers facing off in Charlottesville on Wednesday, Jan. 18, followed by a return trip to Blacksburg on Saturday, Feb. 4. Tech and UVA split the season series last year. Each side wins at home.

Tech’s conference opener against North Carolina marks the third straight season it has opened ACC play at home and the first time it has opened against UNC since the 2009-10 season (that game was in Chapel Hill). Ironically, the last time VT and UNC squared off in a conference opener was Blacksburg on Dec. 19, 2004, in Tech’s opening ACC game.


The Hokies will look to defend their ACC title in Greensboro, NC, March 7-11, at the Greensboro Coliseum.
