SAN FRANCISCO – A police operation Wednesday afternoon involving a man with mental health issues closed the eastbound Seagate Bridge near Treasure Island for more than 90 minutes, the CHP reported.
The CHP said the man in question was walking back and forth on the outer edge of the Bay Bridge west of Treasure Island. Around 3:30 pm on Wednesday, 1, 4, 5 lines were blocked by the authorities. CHP The man is currently under the bridge.
The San Francisco Department of Emergency Management tweeted about issues affecting traffic Wednesday at 3:19 p.m., saying motorists should wait for heavy traffic and use alternate routes.

Chopper video shows CHP and San Francisco Fire Department units on the scene trying to take the man into custody. The incident was first reported at 2:30 p.m. Eastbound traffic on I-80 in San Francisco was backed up for Cesar Chavez and the I-280 interchange.
Shortly before 4 p.m., authorities confirmed they were able to resolve the situation. Once the man was taken into custody, the CHP began reopening lanes.
