Unfortunately for the Blazers, Utah Tech’s result would be the end.
Abile Christian hit a 30-yard field goal with 38 seconds left to cut Utah Tech’s lead to 10-6 at halftime. However, in the third quarter, Jeremiah Dobbins ran for the first time in the second half to give the Wildcats their first lead of the game.
Dobbins ran for another pair of scores in the final quarter to lead Abilene Christian to a 16-point victory. The Chargers finished with just 284 yards and committed two turnovers. The Wildcats had 440 yards of total offense and just one giveaway.
